THE TRUMP ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCES BOBBY R. BURCHFIELD AS
INDEPENDENT ETHICS ADVISOR AND GEORGE A. SORIAL AS
CHIEF COMPLIANCE COUNSEL
New York, NY (January 25, 2017) – The Trump Organization announces today the appointments of Bobby R.
Burchfield as Independent Ethics Advisor and George A. Sorial as Chief Compliance Counsel. These two
important appointments are consistent with the plan outlined at the January 11, 2017 press conference
which announced the transfer of management and authority of The Trump Organization to Donald Trump
Jr., Eric Trump and longtime advisor and Chief Financial Officer, Allen Weisselberg.
Bobby R. Burchfield is a partner in the D.C. office of the prominent international law firm King & Spalding.
Over the past 35 years, Mr. Burchfield has tried cases and argued appeals throughout the Nation, including
before the Supreme Court of the United States, for some of the largest businesses in the world. He has
provided legal and ethics advice to political parties, federal and state office-holders, and corporations, and
served as General Counsel to President George H. W. Bush’s re-election campaign in 1992. Mr. Burchfield
has won numerous accolades for his expertise in litigation and national political law and has been
consistently ranked as one of the best lawyers in America.
Mr. Burchfield will serve as Independent Ethics Advisor to The Trump Organization. In this role, Mr.
Burchfield will assist the company with respect to the avoidance of conflicts and its compliance with all
applicable laws, rules and regulations. Certain transactions cannot be undertaken without the Independent
Ethics Advisor’s prior approval.

Mr. Burchfield will play a critical role interacting with The Trump Organization’s compliance team which
includes newly appointed Chief Compliance Counsel, George A. Sorial.

 George Sorial has been a trusted executive within The Trump Organization since 2007 most recently serving
as Executive Vice President and Counsel overseeing various aspects of the global real estate empire
including complex real estate development and transactions, litigation and regulatory compliance. In his
new role, Mr. Sorial will be responsible for ensuring that the company, at all times, remains compliant with
the highest legal and ethical standards. Mr. Sorial will play an instrumental role in the implementation of
new policies and procedures as The Trump Organization enters a new phase of management.
