Job title: Executive Director of Network Schools Work Location: Central Office Unit/Department: Administrative Orleans Parish School Board 3520 General DeGaulle Dr., Suite 5055 New Orleans, LA 70114 Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer Job Description  Full-time  Exempt  Part-time  Nonexempt Summary Under the supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Orleans Parish School Board, the Director of Network Schools will provide effective leadership and oversight of the OPSB Network Schools and assist with the oversight of instructional programs at the Youth Study Center and the Alternative Learning Institute. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned in the evolution of this new division.              Sets and defines the academic vision and leadership for network schools, achieving buy-in and investment from the school teams to adopt best practices; Sets with principals ambitious, clear and measurable goals related to student achievement, holding principals accountable for meeting the goals, and providing support and adjustment where needed; Regularly briefs the CAO and Superintendent on the progress of each school and each principal’s performance towards achieving school goals; Assesses leadership capacity and develops an individualized Leadership Development Plan (“LDP”) for each principal, which includes conducting regular formal and informal evaluations to support the achievement of their performance plans and goals of the LDP; Develops a high-performing network team of principals who leverage one another’s strengths and support one another in achieving shared goals; Utilizes and creates best practices to increase student achievement on measures that matter for college and career readiness; Creates a data driven culture in assessing schools, teachers and student performance; Leads a comprehensive and concrete network-wide plan for the curriculum transition, ensuring all curriculum and assessments align with state standards; Works closely with Exceptional Children’s Services and other departments as necessary to ensure all students are achieving, regardless of need; Fosters meaningful relationships with families and community partners to provide holistic support for students across schools and creates a strong support structure to ensure all students are achieving; Ensures adherence to all district and state policies; Works with school leaders to create a talent management strategy to develop and attract highly effective teachers; Performs other duties as required. Qualifications, Education and Work Experience: Master’s Degree required. Doctorate Degree preferred. Minimum of five years successful experience in education administration at the level of principal or above. Executive Director of Network Schools September, 2015 Louisiana Type A Certificate or Educational Leader Certificate Level 2 (EDL2) eligible         Experienced instructional leader with deep knowledge of literacy and numeracy. Proven track record leading large-scale, sustainable turnaround efforts, as well as transforming good schools into great ones. Expertise in leadership development, building effective teams, coaching, and ensuring professional growth for all network team members. Pursues and implements innovative ideas and methods, remains committed to seeking out and sharing current research and evidence-based best practices. Is knowledgeable of operations, management and organizational design and uses this knowledge to ensure improved student outcomes. Builds collaborative relationships with a wide variety of constituent groups, including external partnerships, to ensure the entire system operates in the most effective manner possible to support school and principal needs. Demonstrates an unyielding commitment to continuous improvement and an unwavering belief that all students can achieve at high levels. Extensive experience in school and central office operations.
