In doing so, they have had running battles With the Simon City Royals and the Latin Kings. The intense dispute with the LKs caused a switch of allegianc from the People to the Folks and an alliance Within the "Insane Familia" of the Spanish Cobras. During the 1990s, the most intense battles with the LKs appear to have taken place around the Lathrop Homes and in Aurora. In 2001, gang members suffered numerous arrests on weapons charges as the result of ?Operation Stacked Deck." That was followed by more arrests through "Operation Double Down."
