It is therefore proper that the Motion to Reinstate Visitation be granted in favor ef Sigurd Hansen and also in favor of his parents. In consiaering appropriate remedies, three possibilities have been advanced: That Sigurd Hansen voluntarily relinquish his paxental rights in Melissa. This appreaah is-rebutted by the fact of and purpose of thie hearing. It should be noted that the ceurt, based on the abeve findings, neither could nor should order termination of the father?s parental rights. 2.) That Melissa be placed for thirty days on a temporary basie with her father. The risks and shortcomings of this ?Gar?ner? approach are mentiened by Dr. Dunne in his January 14, 1992 report. It appears that this somewhat experimental technique may not achieve desired short term??r term results. 3.) That visitation be reinstated gradually. This remedy appears to be the meet workable, despite the obvious risk of engoing severe conflict among the parties. It would appear that the recommendations of Mr. Larson as .GAL merit further inquiry. In this regard, I would appreciate a conference with counsel, either in court or by phone, regarding techniques to implement or modify the suggestions made by Mr. Larson. DaVid J.
