Dear Raytown Central Middle School Parents and Guardians,
Because student safety is important to our school operations and is a high priority, this letter is to inform you about a reported
incident at Raytown Central Middle School.
A student reported a sexual assault by another student to police. The reported incident occurred at Raytown Central Middle during
the school day. Raytown Central Middle administration and the school district are cooperating with the Raytown Police Department
and have begun an internal investigation into the reported behavior. We do not tolerate inappropriate sexual behavior of any kind
and will take appropriate action based on our findings.
As a part of our curriculum, teachers are trained to engage students in conversations focused on sexual well-being and safety, digital
citizenship, and the role communication plays in identifying and asserting values and expectations in relationships. These
conversations are ongoing and are considered critically important to developing socially and emotionally healthy young adults. We
will continue to provide supports to all students in relation to this topic.
