Still haven’t been able to get with Barlow (would be #35). McCay seemed to indicate he would sign after the committee (would be #36). With sufficient ground support Kennedy is ideologically with us. Lee Perry would like to but needs support (now and at election time, as with all cosponsors in tight races and/or heavily Eagle Forum JBS areas like Northern UT and UT County). Sanpei is ideologically there - calls to him from Coburn, etc. would go a long way. Calls from Coburn could likely help move Sagers as well. Tanner is a stand along guy. Merrill Nelson may have the most sway with him (other prominent attorney types would maybe help with Tanner). Spendlove is waiting for Mike Lee to tell him what to do. Webb could be moved with enough demand from his district, same with Ed Redd from the same general area. (David Butterfield may be a help up there …) Important to note there are two members named Cox and need to distinguish but both are likely NOs. Cutler indicated that he may be amenable after all. Sagers could be moved with enough influence and education. We need to make sure we hold the cosponsors we have as well. It would seem our focus should be on Edwards, Dunnigan, Dee, Sagers, Cutler, Ipson, Last, Sanpei, Tanner, Kennedy, Perry, McIff and maybe Redd and Webb, possibly Draxler. McKell may respond to sufficient pressure from his district. Hard to say. I don’t think Oda ever moves and I will never again allow him to complain about federal overreach in my presence… Last and Dee often move together. Coburn may be able to influence both of them. Demands from their districts will go a long way as well. Cutler will likely respond to demands from his district. No clue on LaVarr Christensen… He voted yes on countermand in committee. Sufficient demands from his district could sway him but he is v dry close to EF and JBS types. Mark, Here are some questions from an influential and well intentioned, but very ardent, eagle forum supporter. I could answer them given time (i don’t have). Do you have readily available written answers to these specific questions? "Here are some questions that I have............Where would this Convention of the States be held? Who would be the delegates? How would they be chosen? By the Governor? By the Legislature? Maybe the Chamber would have some influence? How many delegates would each State get? Do big states get more smaller states less? Is the balance budget amendment really what you want forced on the federal government? What guarantee would we have that they would not raise our taxes to balance their budget?” Ken On Feb 21, 2015, at 11:03 AM, Candace Daly wrote: Let's just the 5 of us digest this first and then we can implement the plan. I have attached the document that I have been working on, it helps draw lines on what to do. PLEASE DO NOT SPREAD THIS DOCUMENT AROUND I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT AS A WORKING DOCUMENT FOR JUST US! Here is the plan. We work hard on the 7 Legislators who voted yest last year -send emails to them -call their delegate base -lobbying them hard at the capitol and get them all of the documentation that we have New Representatives -send them emails -call their delegate base -next level to work hard on at the Capitol Reps who voted YES on the Delegate Responsibility and not the BBA -send them emails -call their delegate base Two Reps who voted YES last year and didn't vote YES McKell and Sagers -flood them with emails as many as we can and -call their delegates base Republican Reps who voted NO on both -send them emails -call their delegate base If we start with the top group and move down the list as quickly as we can I think we will be able to pick up a few of them -Candace Daly CJD & Associates 1296 West 475 South Farmington, Utah 84025 (801) 599-8519 phone (801) 451-6220 fax
