From: Sent: Friday, August 29, 2014 11:12 AM To: Cc: Subject: RE: Bias Report from the Web Form Dear and all, I was able to find the instructor in her office this morning, and I showed her the bias report. She noted that she did ask students in if there were any National Guard members in the class, and when it was clear that there weren't .ny, she said "Good, then we won't have to worry about that." She says that she asked the question in order to indicate her support of those in the National Guard and her willingness to work with them re: absences and so forth, and when it became clear that no one was in that position, she simply replied that this was good, but (from her perspective) she did not put the negative spin on it that the bias report suggests. She did interact with several students after class, but she did not use the word "war-monger," nor did she hear any of the students use that term. She is not aware that there are any in her course; at least, no one has identified themselves as such to her. I am happy to meet with the student filing the report if he or she has any additional questions or concerns about the instructor's response to this report. Let me know how I can help.
