As you may have heard, President Trump issued an executive order this week to begin
the process of rolling back the so-called "Clean Power Plan" -- an unprecedented
regulatory overreach by the Obama Administration to increase the price of affordable,
reliable energy from traditional sources. Americans for Prosperity believes this is a great
step forward for lifting undue burdens on business and workers and ensuring
government does not pick winners and losers in the marketplace.
Moving into next week, one of AFP's projects, Concerned Veterans for America, is
continuing to drive grassroots support for confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the
Supreme Court. A confirmation vote is slated for Monday.

#1: SUPPORTING CLEAN POWER PLAN EXECUTIVE ORDER

Overview :
President Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday, March 28 unraveling the Clean
Power Plan. "The clean power plan, which aims to cut emissions of CO2 and other emissions
and was implemented in 2015, has been on hold since last year while a federal appeals court
considered a challenge by Republican-led states and more than 100 companies. (EPA Secretary)
Pruitt sued to halt the order while in Oklahoma. Trump's intention, he said, was to bring back coal

#2: CONFIRMATION OF JUDGE GORSUCH TO THE US SUPREME COURT

Overview :
Judge Gorsuch's nomination will likely go to a vote early next week (Monday, April 3). Last
Thursday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that Democrats will filibuster the
Gorsuch nomination. In support of the confirmation effort, AFP has:
o Made over 300,000 calls under the AFP and CVA brands to citizens in target states
asking them to contact their Senators and urge them to confirm Neil Gorsuch without
delay
o Combined, activists have helped make over 20,000 direct constituent-to-legislator
contacts using our digital platform, which allows citizens to utilize Facebook, Twitter, and
email to contact their Senators in support of Gorsuch
o Tens of thousands of activists tuned in to listen to CVA's " Future of the Courts " teletown hall series with Senators Ben Sasse, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Joni Ernst
o CVA has dropped two big waves of direct mail and launched a series of targeted web
ads in support of Judge Gorsuch.

#3: STOPPING BORDER ADJUSTMENT TAX

Overview :
Many speculate that with the Obamacare vote finished for now, Congress will turn to tax
reform. The border adjustment provision in the current version of the House Republican tax plan
is a corporate rate reduction that will be passed through as a $1 trillion tax increase on struggling
American families. Americans for Prosperity was the first (c)(4) organization to publicly oppose
border tax adjustments and is leading the charge in states across the country and on Capitol Hill
against these tax increases.
