Box 5072 Kalispell, MT 59903 Customer ID: 3480 Certificate: 81-C-0016 Site: 001 TRIPLE D GAME FARM, INC. Type: ROUTINE INSPECTION Date: Oct-30-2013 2.40 (b) (2) ATTENDING VETERINARIAN AND ADEQUATE VETERINARY CARE (DEALERS AND EXHIBITORS). (b) Each dealer or exhibitor shall establish and maintain programs of adequate veterinary care that include. (2) The use of appropriate methods to prevent, control, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries. - This licensee has a juvenile tiger at the facility that is declawed. The female juvenile tiger known as Hershey is eight months old and was declawed at two months of age. Licensee stated that "the tiger was declawed because he would not work a tiger with claws". When observing the tiger an abnormal digit flop was observed. The declawing of any wild or exotic carnivore does not constitute appropriate veterinary care. Any medical treatment of a paw should be limited to the affected digit(s) or area and would not require bilateral declawing. These procedures are not innocuous and can cause ongoing pain, discomfort, or other pathological conditions in the animals. No wild or exotic carnivores may be declawed. Correct from this day forward. An exit interview was conducted with a facility representative. BRIAN HOOD, A C I Prepared By: Title: BRIAN L HOOD, A.C.I.
