Dear Parents,

I am writing to let you know of an incident that was reported this morning. Earlier today, we learned of
an alleged sexual assault of one F. L. Schlagle?s student by another student. This assault was alleged to
have taken place before students entered the school building. We take these allegations extremely
seriously, and have referred them to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department for
investigation and potential prosecution.

In order to maintain the integrity of the process, we will not be able to comment on the incident until the
has completed their investigation. I do want to assure you that we take the safety and security of
ALL students extremely seriously, and will continue to do everything within our power to keep Schlagle a
safe environment for students.

Our goal is to make sure that we do everything necessary to keep students and staff at Schlagle safe. I
wanted to communicate this information to you in a timely manner, in case you or your child had any
questions.
