AM likes to say they are building the farm team. In numerous statewide training sessions they are deveioping principted leadership in email roies, teaching the strategies and to build citizen?led, free- market based activity that chaiienges insiders, cronyisrn, and bureaucratic overreach. Trainings inciode everything from how to run for office, to how to circulate a petition, to the fundamentals of economics, American history and civics, to how to hold a civii debate. These trainings are open to air, regardless of party In its five years in Wisconsin, American Majority has trained more than 6,400 citizen ieaders at more than 190 events. AM trainees have gone on to run for school boards, clerks of courts, county boards, and the legislature and to organize citizens for voter integrity, public school and campus activism. For the past three years, youth subsidiary, Campus i?v?iaiority, has worked on high school and coilege campuses to give voice to students who do not subscribe to the dominant cuitore, but who need support in claiming their rights to free speech and free expression. Partnering with organizations like Young Americans for Liberty, AM Wisconsin has offered in-person, err-campus training for more than 1,800 students at 30 colieges around the state. Although AM is a national organization, Wisconsin is its most effective chapter. Wisconsin State Director, Matt Batzel, is new National Executive Director, and spends much of his time teaching other states? leadership how to build the Wisconsin modei. In ceiebration of its success, AM is pianning to hold its 1000?? training in Wisconsin this fail. The event function as a nationai reunion for all state chapters and training aiums, and is intended to inspire and motivate participants. A grant of $250,000 is requested, which inciudes $18,000 for the reunion. STAFF RECOMMENDAWON: American Majority works quietly behind the scenes to give citizens the toois they need to participate in their government, and its success is worth celebrating.
