US. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEWLOPMENT WASHENGTON, DC 20410?1000 OFFICE OF AND RELATIONS Mr. Brett Sisto Counsel Committee on Financial Services US. House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515 Dear Mr. Sisto: This confirms our discussion of Friday, April 28, 2017, regarding the Department of Housing and Urban Development?s (HUD) response to the Chairman?s letter dated April 3, 2017, regarding Committee Intent to Control Congressional Records. Among other things, the April 3, 2017, letter requested that HUD confirm by May 1, 2017, that it would not produce congressional records, as described in the letter, in tesponse to a request under the Freedom of Information Act or any other provision of law or agreement on the grounds that such documents are not to product and are constitutionally privileged. As we discussed, because of the need for interagency coordination with the Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury, HUD has been granted an extension by which to respond to the Chairman?s April 3, 2017, letter. Please contact me at 202?402?5300 if you have further questions regarding this matter. Sincerey, Aaron Santa Anna Acting General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations espanol.hud.gov
