Dear Sir or Madam: My name is Basman Elashi. I am a hospital administrator at Augusta Victoria Hospital. Our facility is part of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Services Program. My responsibilities include the efficient operations of the pediatric oncology department. My duties include policy analysis, finance, accounting, budgeting and human resources. The conditions are extremely challenging for vulnerable cancer patients. Orthopedic cancer care deals with finding, diagnosing and treating tumors and growths in bones and soft tissues. Our facility does not have adequate resources to provide all the children with appropriate treatment, Healthcare appointments are delayed. Those affected at our facility were 323 children. Chemotherapy drugs are not always available, nor are radiotherapy, molecular therapy, PET scans or isotope scans. The amount of staff varies but they contribute to the improvements, despite the limitation in the facilitation of medical care. Chemotherapy medications are no exception when it comes to restrictions. In August 2016 alone, 17 percent of cancer drugs were at zero stock. When these vital medications run out in hospitals, patients face the stark choice of interrupting their treatment Interrupting a course of treatment can severely reduce effectiveness and increase the risk of drug resistance in patients, Respectfully, _____________________ Mr. Basman Elashi Healthcare Administrative Management Augusta Victoria Hospital P.O.
