Hi Mike,

I have copied Jerome Ouelette on this email. He is the Chair of our group and I wanted him to know what I had
responded to you. Jerome, please feel free to correct anything I have said.

I have also included our present ?Terms of Reference?, that is currently being updated.

The mandate of the NB per the attachment) is ?To review the facts and circumstances related to the sudden
and unexpected deaths of all children under 19 years of age in . The mission is worded differently and states that
comprehensive reviews will be done on all deaths. 
I verified with Jerome that we are only reviewing the cases sent to us by Greg Forestell, the Chief Coronerl who I think
'du spoke to about this issue).Those reviewed are youth who died while under the care of Social Development.
erefore the committee does not review ?all deaths? as per our mission. was surprised when I saw that NB was given
an "Excellent Status? as I didn?t think we fit into that category. I should have said something to you at the time but it
was already published. Our committee thinks we should be fulfilling our mandate and mission but with the present
manpower and financial support for the committee we are not sure we can. Being given an "excellent status? by CPS is
not helpful when trying to obtain additional resources.
The people on the CDRC are very committed to this cause and want to do good work. I think it would be unfair for them
to receive any more negativity. However, I think there needs to be more resources to function as an ?excellent
