Christine Nobiss, founder and co-chair of Mother Earth Community Camp, is desperately requesting financial donations ($15,000) to begin construction of her camp on the 14 acres of land which was donated to her cause to set up a protestor camp. The Mother Earth Community Camp (MECC) seems to not only attract local Iowa indigenous natives and sympathetic (water protector/eminent domain) protestors to support the cause but also serve as a fall back camp after Camp 2 and other camps at Standing Rock, ND are vacated. c. Christine Nobiss’ co-chair is who is an Meskwaki native out of the reservation in Tama, Iowa which is approximately 50miles NW of the tentative new (MECC) protestor camp. d. Christine Nobiss is friends with Jason Livingston, a POI who had extensive involvement with the protest efforts in Keokuk, IA where Mississippi Stand began as an organized protest group. Jason Livingston was previously arrested for trespassing during a Sept/Oct 2016 protest at the HDD drill pad in Keokuk, IA. Past 24 Hours a. Travelled to Williamsburg, IA to recon the area for the new The Earth Mother Community Education Camp, a sustainable and self-sufficient community rooted in indigenous thought and practice. Had a chance meeting with Deputy Justin Parsons of the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department. When I introduced myself to him, his reply was, “What pipeline?” And, when informing Deputy Parsons’ about a new 14-acre camp, he replied, “Our Sheriff isn’t going to go for that.” Deputy Parsons said to go to the intersection of F52 and “J” Ave. There is a Christmas Tree farm there and the owners were described by the deputy as “quite wacko”. He also gave another location of where he saw 6 cars in a usually abandoned driveway. Nothing of any significance was noted at either location. The initial organizing effort met with marginal success reaching a projected 2,000+ participants. Participation numbers increased exponentially when two No DAPL/Anti-Pipeline/anti Fracking organizations became co-sponsors of the rally. There has been an undertone of anarchist messages throughout social media. While violence is possible, it would not fit the current TTP’s of organizers in Chicago. If there is targeted vandalism it would signal a complete change of focus of the Chicago organizers past TTPs.
