This part?time position is appointed by the President and partners with the UT System executive team to support University efforts across the state and region. The Special Advisor to the President will provide support on behalf of the President and the University in a manner that re?ects the President?s priorities and the University?s mission, goals and values. The Special Advisor to the President demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement and to providing outstanding service to a variety of University stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: The Special Adviser to the President will serve as advisor to the President on a variety of matters and will represent the President at events, activities, meetings and to constituent groups as required. Examples of special assignments include, but are not limited to the following: 0 Serving as an ambassador for the University at various community, athletics, and professional meetings and conferences as requested by the President; - Serving as a staff liaison for the President?s Council, representing the University in meetings across the state of Tennessee and in Atlanta, Georgia; I Supporting the UT system?s intercollegiate athletics programs by: 0 Representing the UT-Knoxville Athletics Department as a goodwill ambassador for the Athletics Director, coaches, and student-athletes; 0 Promoting the history and heritage of the UT?Knoxviile football program to external audiences the National Football Foundation); 0 Assisting the UT-Knoxville Athletics Department by stewarding efforts to honor the history of the UT- Knoxville football program and the accomplishments of football alumni reunions, anniversaries); 0 Being reasonably available to the UT-Martin and UT-Chattanooga administrations for consultations relating to intercollegiate athletics; 0 Supporting the UT-Knoxville Athletics Department in engaging with fans and Tennessee Fund donors; and Participating in at least four mutually agreeable appearances, events, or trips annually and providing other mutually agreeable support to the UT-Knoxville Athletics Department, at the request of the Athletics Director. 0 Working with the Vice President of Government Relations and Advocacy to develop and enhance relationships with state and federal of?cials; 0 Providing coordinated support for major alumni and donor initiatives across the UT system, working primarily with the President and Vice President for Development and Alumni/President for the UT Foundation; I Participating in targeted communication and public relations efforts to advance the mission and exposure of the University of Tennessee system; and 0 Perform other duties as assigned by the President. Required Quali?cations: Education: Bachelor?s degree required. Experience: The Special Adviser to the President must have a preven track record of management in an executive environment. Requires an understanding of all entities within the University of Tennessee and their relations and interface to the University and demonstrated experience consulting and advising senior-level executives.
