CREATER Caruouc . . ., 6.6 Provmon of Food Servrces air Saucers . mung). Board Priority: Building Relationships and Partnerships Promoting Stewardship Presented by: Superintendent J. Lloyd and G. Martell Background Information: On March 2, 2017, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the provision of Food Services. The RFP was posted on SaskTenders to satisfy the requirements of the New West Trade Partnership Agreement. In Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, school?based nutrition programs provide important supports for students that do not regularly have access to nutritious foods throughout the school day, With the help of community partnerships and contributions, we have been fortunate to be able to offer those pupils snacks and meals while they are within our faith?filled learning environments. The school division does not currently use one vendor to supply all the food and supplies required to offer a nutrition program. The issuance of this RFP allows for a change in the service delivery model by moving all schools to one menu and delivering the supplies directly to the schools. One menu will be used at all schools to ensure consistency and provide assurance that the schools are always serving nutritious snacks and meals within every school community. The high school cafeterias will also be able to access this Contract for further savings in their food expenditures. The estimated savings of a centralized purchasing system, common menus, and this contract for a food supplier, will save the school division an estimated $85,000 annually on nutrition preparation and food expenditures. The term of the Contract is a three-year term with a potential for extension of an additional two years. The RFP close date was March 20, 2017. at which time two proposal responses were received. The evaluation committee consisted of Holmes (Manager of Finance), Laurier Langlois (Manager of Corporate Services), Gary Beaudin (Manager of Community and Resource Development), and Danielle Hoffart (Aboriginal Student Achievement Coordinator).
