Note by the Secretariat

The Secretariat presents its compliments to the members of the Security Council
Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL
(Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities and has the
honour to refer to the note by the Chair circulating a proposal from the United States to add the
entities ISIL-Khorasan, ISIL-Libya, ISIL-Saudi Arabia, and ISIL-Yemen to the ISIL (Da'esh)
and Al-Qaida Sanctions List (ref. S/AC.37/2016/NOTE.71).

The Secretariat wishes to inform the members of the Committee that Senegal and
Egypt have objected to the proposal to add ISIL-Saudi Arabia to the ISIL (Da’esh) and AlQaida Sanctions List (refs. S/AC.37/2016/COMM.70/Add.13 and,
S/AC.37/2016/COMM.70/Add.14, attached).
