STATEMENT OF OCTAVIUS MORRIS lhis statement is taken at 4814 West Washington. Octavius is being interviewed by an investigator from the Cook County Public Defender's office. On November 16, 1992, at 2 a.m. Toni came over to my house and we sat in my front room and talked for about 30 minutes. I said let's go to the restaurant and get something to eat. While we was leaVing out of the door my mother said don't go noshere. I went out the door. As we went down the porch stairs this light skinned man or boy said: This is a stick up and shot Toni in the chest. I started running and I heard several more shots as I was running. I saw this dark colored Gar leaVing my back gate and I ran back to the scene where Toni got shot. I heard Toni say help me Tweety help me. My mom started yelling what happened. I said I don't know. The police started coming. The police put me in the car and brought Blue OVer there and said is that him. I said no so we went to the hospital and they start asking me questions and I left going into the lobby. Toni's father said that bastard who did this to my son. I left. Me and my mom went home. The next day Toni's family came over and told me that he died. The police come over to my house and kept coming over saying are you sure that it wasn't Blue? I kept saying no until one night I just got tired and said he was Blue. But, all the time I was telling them it was a light skinned man or boy, but they kept saying Blue's name, so I said Blue did.
