We know that Monsanto sponsors some of the biotech outreach efforts like Biotech Lit conference, indirectly. Let's just keep it 100% clean. Look this ov er to make sure it is accurate. I wanted to make it short and sweet: Below is an open letter from Kev in Folta, a plant scientist at the Univ ersity of Florida, Gainsv ille. In recent y ears, Folta has taken a leading role as an educator on the subject of agricultural biotechnology . He often engages with GMO critics and foes. Folta is a professor in a public institution, and his research is sponsored by federal and state agencies. No research is sponsored by Monsanto. From: Folta, Kevin M. They are now a biotech company as of this week. I know, I just don't want a gotcha. These folks dig well, and that's all public record. Maybe end with "His research program receives no funding from Monsanto or other major biotech companies" That leaves me some wiggle room. They gave me something like $40K to fund some strawberry work for a year. kf Kevin M. It's the word "sponsored" that strikes me as fuzzy. I'm okay with it there, but why can't we end more definitely in the last line with, "His research receives no funding from Monsanto or any other biotech companies."
