to host our week of NBA
game
your
All-Star events and
in Cleveland. We appreciate
interest in being our host and the effort put
into the bid. We continue to be encouraged and impressed with Cleveland as a destination and your bid
package positions you as a very strong host city contender. We will be awarding the 2020 and 202L AllStar events and games in the near future.
At the same time, as we have communicated previously to Len Komoroski, CEO of the Cleveland
Cavaliers/Quicken Loans Arena, we will not be able to consider Cleveland as the host city for NBA AllStar 2020 or 2O2I unless construction of The Q's "Transformation" project begins on or before
September l-5, 2017. We have already delayed the awarding of these All-Stars to accommodate
Cleveland and unfortunately, we cannot ask the other NBA cities that have held these dates open to

waitanylonger. lnaddition,becauseselectionofthehostcityforNBAAll-Starissubjecttoanumberof
factors, the start of construction does not guarantee the selection of Cleveland as a host city.
David,again,thankyouforyourinterestinhostingourweekof NBAAllstareventsandgame. Asyou
know, this special celebration of our game and fans is truly a global event and the host city serves as a
special partner while reflecting our brand and the brands of our partners around the world. We wish
