Coolfire™ II • Issue 22 22nd February 2011 Subject: Any use of unauthorized technical aids in connection with various Cool Fire™ program versions To whom it may concern: We continue to strongly recommend – as in our previous reports (Technical Bulletin No. 18, 19 and 21) the installation of the required updates – which we are offering to you free of charge – and we wish to explicitly emphasize that the operation of equipment – especially without the corresponding updates – is the sole responsibility of the operator. We would also like to state again that we were unable to find any concrete interference with the game software or the game play whatsoever in the occurrences reported to us in connection with possible increased payouts, nor were any software bugs discovered! We also categorically rule out – to the best of our knowledge and based solely on the technological design of our equipment – the possibility that any manipulation (in particular a change/replacement/ transfer etc. of the software or any hardware changes) can take place without opening the device etc., which also excludes any external changes to the game program through entry, modification, deletion or suppression of data or by otherwise acting on the running of the game program. With respect to any unusually high payouts that have been observed, we can only conjecture: It cannot be principally excluded that possible payouts of - statistically speaking - excessively high winnings may have taken place due to a potentially possible and targeted use of illegal technical aids, with such devices possibly having served to extrapolate the respective game results, potentially with a high probability in the form of statistical projections. Through targeted and prolonged observation of the individual game sequences as well as possibly recording individual games, it might be possible to allegedly identify a kind of "pattern" in the game results, namely with the additional utilization of what is definitely non-conventional computing power and enormous data storage capacity. It should however on the other hand be noted that these potential "patterns" can only be based on statistics and would not actually mirror or determine individual game results. For these reasons, we again strongly recommend the best possible enhancement of on-site safety standards and measures with a view to the possible use of illegal technical aids, for instance to obtain a gaming advantage or to observe unusual events! In this context we would like to point out that all the algorithms and mathematical models of our original game programs have been tested and licensed according to universally accepted test methods by accredited laboratories, and therefore conform to international and industry standards. Coolfire™ II • Issue 22 22nd February 2011 We should point out that only original Novomatic hardware and software products comply with international and industry standards and that in particular the updates we offer, including the new integrated security features, surpass these standards by far and are capable of withstanding any illegal activity to the best possible extent. Finally, we are also in constant contact with all of the authorities involved, in order to completely resolve these events, particularly for the benefit of our customers.
