Whilst we have a range of technical measures in place to guard against this, you and your staff also have an important role to play in keeping your parliamentary information, constituency data and systems safe. As a minimum, you should make sure that you: Choose a unique password for logging into your parliamentary network account that you can remember, but that would be difficult for others to gueSS- - Never share your password or write it down where others could find it. We can arrange for your staff to access your mailbox, calendar and documents through their own accounts; - Apply caution when receiving e-mails containing web links or attachments; Remember to ?lock' your computer when unattended. Hold down theWindowsKey L. . Keep any non-parliamentary devices you use up? to-date, and protect them with reputable anti-virus software. We advise using only parliamentary equipment to create or access sensitive parliamentary information; 20 - Take care to protect non-parliamentary email and social media accounts. Using reputable password managers and multi-factor authentication can help to protect these accounts against hackers; - Be careful what you share online, and be aware that people are not always who they say they are; - If something goes wrong, or you think you have made a mistake, call the Digital Support Desk immediately. Phishing Phishing emails are emails that set out to trick you into clicking on a link or into opening an attachment to steal your data or infect your device. If you receive such an email, please delete it without clicking on any links or attachments. Ifyou click on a link or open an attachment and then realise that this may have been a mistake, please contact the Digital Support Desk immediately on 0207 219 2001 (x2001). What to look for - the email is unexpected an unspecified package is awaiting collection, or an invoice is attached from a company you have not recently had contact with); the email asks for unnecessary personal information; - somethingjust doesn't look or feel right - if the email just doesn?t seem genuine then it probably isn't.
