i would like to provide the following statement regarding the "Elect Burchett" bank account since I believe that I have previously been wrongly and unfairiy accused. Until very recently, I was compelled to remain silent about the true state of affairs involving this account, but I am now free to comment and to tell the truth. Tim stated in the June 24th News Sentinel article, it was his "job to win the election" and I was "in charge of the account". He also stated that this was the first he knew of these is not true. Tim oversaw the campaign account, Tim instructed me to write the checks and Tim is the one that instructed that the checks be DEPOSITED into our JOINT bank account--the same JOINT account where his panychecks were deposited, and the same joint account from which our mortgage, the utilities, car insurance and our other expenses were paid out of. Tim knows this and it is hurtful that he would feign ignorance of it to try to portray me as a viilain or a thief, and i am neither. Contrary to the implications in the paper and as suggested by Tim's denials, I didn't cash any of the checks but ALL were deposited in ourjoirzt account per Tim's instructions. Our bank statements will prove the checks- were deposited into ourjoint accounts, and 1 am willing to release these records to the News Sentinel if he is, and for myseif, hereby give my permission that they be released. The January 2012 disclosure, WHICH i DID NOT COMPLETE, was iittered with inaccuracies and checks which, according to Tim, were "inadvertently" left off. Errors continued even on Tim's "amended" reports as iate as last month. i also want to add Tim himself has written checks out of multiple ""Burchett campaign" accounts held at multiple banks that either were not disclosed or were- not disclosed properly. Tim wrote checks either tothe spouse of or directly to certain county employees out of these accounts and he improperly' called these checks "reimbursements", in violation of campaign finance laws. Tim made similar payments yea rs ago at the State level from his Senate campaign account to state employees. - To my knowledge, over the years, Tim treated his various "Burchett campaign" accounts in a similar fashion and he routinely used at least some of the money for his personal expenses and he did not include the checks he wrote for his personal expenses 'on his sworn disclosure forms. An appropriate audit of these acdounts and disclosure statements wouid prove this to be true and I would urge Tim to release these records ta the public. I - As oflune 24, 2012, my employment at Clayton Bank and Trust ended. I have retained attorney, David A. Burkhalter, to represent me regarding the issues surrounding my employment at Clayton and I will not comment further on it_at this time. i felt that must stand up to the falsehoods and innuendo and appreciate the opportunity to give this statement. On 'advice of counsel, I won't have further comments on these matters in this forum and I will defer further questions to my attorneys. Thank you.
