MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
THE PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER OF MILTON (PRC)
AND
THE SANTA ROSA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT (SRCSD)
I.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the PRC and SRCSD is to establish a
collaboration between parties in order to positively enhance the lives of Florida high school students
through relationship education.
II.

BACKGROUND

The PRC desires to help educate children on forming safe and responsible relationships. It is our purpose
to help our students achieve their goals, keep their priorities straight in relationships, and keep them on
the path to a healthy lifestyle!
III.

FORMS OF COOPERATION

By signing this MOU, the parties agree to cooperate in the following areas:
PROGRAM DELIVERY
The PRC’s relationship delivery model for Florida high schools includes two 50-minute sessions over a
period of two days. Sessions present information on what effects our relationships, goal setting and
achieving, the importance of boundaries in our relationships and STI facts. It is an evidence-based
curriculum designed to help teens learn how to set goals and make wise choices about relationships,
dating, partners, and more. Additional lessons may be added upon request by SRCSD.

1) PRC personnel will teach 12 lessons including:
1) Components that affect our relationships
2) Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus
3) Goal setting and achieving
4) Overcoming obstacles
5) Actions have consequences
6) True love versus infatuation
7) Chemical bonding
8) Steps of intimacy and how to stop them
9) Boundaries are our friends
10) Foundations of a healthy relationship
11) STI facts and stories
12) Saving sex for marriage

 2) PRC personnel will supply the hand-outs to students.
3) PRC personnel will supply facilitator laptops and materials for presentations and other relevant
curriculum materials for students.
4) PRC personnel will undergo/pass FBI fingerprinting/background checks.
5) SRCSD will allow approved PRC Extension personnel to teach the lessons as outlined above.
6) SRCSD will ensure that students receive the Parental Consent form and that it is completed/signed
before program delivery.
7) SRCSD will supply internet service for PRC personnel to access any curriculum related site.
8) SRCSD will supply a classroom and classroom related supplies (e.g., board, chalk, eraser, markers,
projector, presentation screen, etc.) for PRC personnel to deliver 2 sessions of programming as

outlined in this agreement.
9) The individual school will supply student supervision by the high school teacher assigned to the
classroom during the class period in which program delivery occurs.
IV.

POINTS OF CONTACT

The review, request for changes, and interpretation of the general provisions of this MOU will be
coordinated through the points of contact designated below:
For The Pregnancy Resource Center:

For Santa Rosa County School District: Sherry Smith, Director of Student Services
The parties will consult further as to the necessity of designating emergency or other points of contact in
order to carry out the duties described in this MOU.
V.

TERM, AMENDMENT, TERMINATION, AND MISCELLANEOUS

This MOU will commence upon the last party’s date of signature and will remain in effect through the end
of the school year in 2022 unless extended or otherwise terminated in writing by one or both parties.
This MOU may be amended by mutual written consent of the authorized representatives for the PRC and
SRCSD.
Either party may terminate this MOU upon 30-days written notification to the other party. Such notice
will be the subject of immediate consultation by the parties to decide upon the appropriate course of
action.

 Any dispute concerning performance of this MOU shall be decided by the appropriate administrative
officials of each party, who shall reduce any decision to writing. If no remedy can be reached within 60
days from date of dispute the parties agree to terminate the agreement without cause upon 30-days
written notice.
Each party agrees that costs, if any, associated with activities implemented by this MOU shall be the
responsibility of the party incurring the cost. In other words, no money will be changing hands under this
agreement.
Each party warrants and represents that they have adequate liability insurance with such protection as to
be applicable to officers, employees, and agents while acting within the scope of their employment.
Each party hereby assumes any and all risks of personal injury and property damage attributed to the
negligent acts or omissions of that party and the officers, employees, and agents thereof.
VI.

APPROVING SIGNATURES

The foregoing represent the understandings reached between The Pregnancy Resource Center of Milton
and SRCSD upon the matters referred to herein.
