By preserving existing wetlands and enhancing waterways, we are building a spectacular, central place, mingling work, live, learn, and play activities. Amazon HQ2 buildings will Illustrate the local lifestyle under the Florida Sun, and have direct contact with surrounding water and nature. The creation of a central Lagoon is not just for recreational purposes, but is also an important component to assist sustainability and combat climate change. The HQ2 is part of a larger approach that includes the creation of a place that promotes thinking, walking, and community interaction. By creating several active public spaces for an array of uses, Suncoast HQ2 will be part of a community that is alive day and night, every day of the week. The work environment is organized as a campus, creating many different outdoor and indoor spaces where one can create, express, and produce. 31 The open public space is organized through a sequence of plazas, greens, parks, golf fairways, trails, and beaches. The HQ2 buildings will be integrated into a dynamic center where one finds retail, restaurants, services, and hotels mixed with loft style residences, creating a true mixed-use center. The diversity of housing types provided in the area has a direct correlation with diversity of residents, attracting Centennials, Millennials, Gen Y and Xers alike. This Amazon community is an expression of integration, trust, stewardship, and creativity. As Amazon grows in the Sunshine State, it will continue to transform Florida Internally, to meet unseen challenges; externally, to exceed the demands of their customers. GOP Total Suncoast + Diversity Dem Total Total Votes Cast Since the establishment of Ybor City (within Suncoast) by Cuban immigrants, 132 years ago, the region has evolved into multi-ethnical composition and cultural diversity. Today the region maintains a diverse offering of architecture, business, culinary and cultural offerings. What’s next? How can Amazon take an action, that in itself, results in exceeding the expectations of its wildest dreams? The State of Florida lives at the crossroads of the national (and international) political outcomes. The state has had a direct, significant role in determining the outcome of 4 of the past 6 presidential elections. 51 Suncoast has quietly become more cosmopolitan. Many Peruvians, Italians, Brazilians, Ukranians along with many others made the Suncoast home. The foreign-born population in Manatee and Sarasota counties jumped 57 percent during the first decade of the 21st century — double the national rate. With the opening of Suncoast Amazon-the transformation of the state’s, the nation’s, and the world’s politics begins to take hold. In addition, the region consists of a large multilingual population. Spanish, Arabic, African, French, Chinese, German, Hindi and Vietnamese speaking households can be found throughout the region. All existing in harmony. Finally, the region’s diversity doesn’t end with racial diversity . With a flourishing population of ethic, racial or cultural assets-it also is cited by Movoto.com has having four of the six best towns in Florida for LBGT families. It is an area with many religious centers, businesses, support groups, athletic teams and social clubs that welcome those who identify with the LGBT community. St. Petersburg is surrounded by 244 miles of shoreline along Tampa Bay, Boca Ciega Bay, the Gulf of Mexico and the intracoastal waterways. A boater’s paradise, the St. Petersburg Marina is the largest city marina in the southeast with 610 boat slips. There are also nine boat ramp locations, open year round. Fort De Soto Park is also traditionally rated as one of the nation’s top beaches. Downtown St. Petersburg is the city’s heart, replete with shops, restaurants, bars and attractions. The Dalí Museum is an obligatory stop, as is the Chihuly Collection of mind-blowing glasswork. While exploring, be sure to visit the Museum of Fine Arts and the Florida Holocaust Museum. Out-of-doors attractions are just as wow-inducing: Boyd Hill Nature Park is a glimpse of what St. Petersburg looked like before modern development; the observation tower at Weedon Island Preserve offers an expansive view of St. Pete’s surroundings; and Fort De Soto Park is more than just an award-winning beach—it’s an outdoor lover’s park with every dry land and watersport activity you could ask for (including outstanding beach camping). It’s easy to get around downtown by foot or bike. Tampa Tampa is situated on the north shore of Tampa Bay in West Central Florida. Saint Petersburg lies west of the bay, while Bradenton is on the southern shore. The downtown business center of the city is on the north shore of Hillsborough Bay and Ybor City lies just to the east. MacDill Air Force Base is on the southern tip of South Tampa, while the city also extends to the north with the newly incorporated area of New Tampa. Tampa is divided into five main districts fanning out from Downtown in the south-center between the Hillsborough River and Ybor Channel. West Tampa, once a separate city, lies across the Hillsborough River to the west of Downtown. South Tampa, a large residential area, extends south along the Interbay Peninsula. Bradenton Manatee county includes Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat Key Anna Maria Island, Parrish, Ellenton and Palmetto. Bradenton is one of southwest Florida’s crown jewels of old Florida. It is located just south of St. Petersburg and Tampa and north of Sarasota. People come here to enjoy the warm weather, play in the sand at many of the wonderful beaches, go boating or jet skiing on the Manatee River or in the Gulf of Mexico, or to hit the golf ball around in the one of the many challenging golf courses. There are many reasons why people come to love this area of Florida. Sarasota Sarasota is located about 50 miles south of Tampa on the central west coast of Florida. Many refer to it as the “Cultural Capital of Florida” because of the abundance of arts and cultural amenities the city has to offer. Siesta Key, Longboat Key, Lido Key, and Casey Key are stunning barrier islands off the coast of Sarasota. All of them are famous internationally for the beauty and quality of their beaches. Once known only as a sleepy beach town, Sarasota has grown to be a highly sought after location for vacationers, retirees, second home owners escaping cold winters, as well as professionals and young families yearning for a superior quality of life. The area boasts numerous golf courses and tennis facilities, great fishing, gorgeous beaches, expanding employment opportunities, highly rated schools, fine and casual dining, a considerable array of arts, entertainment and culture, fun shopping destinations, and limitless leisure time activities. Sarasota is truly a unique place that unites small town traditions with big city amenities. There are a variety of Sarasota homes to explore. One can find a quaint and cozy cottage, a palatial mansion, and everything in between. Sarasota homes offer stunning views of the area’s pristine scenery. Properties are available with beach, lake, or golf course views, in addition to a private nature preserve that’s home to local wildlife and greenery. Parrish Parrish is an unincorporated community that dates back to the Civil War era. It got its start as a plantation when Captain William B. Hooker was awarded a 40-acre plot of land by the U.S Government. Here he cultivated cotton, citrus, and tobacco, which were primary cash crops in the South. Eventually, the plantation was sold to a cattle rancher named Crawford Parrish, which is where the community gets its name. The railroad was a big part of the development of the Parrish community when it came to town in 1902. It was both a supply and passenger route until Amtrak came to Florida in 1971. Parrish is home to the Florida Railroad Museum. The museum is a fun weekend activity for families, as it operates weekend train rides to the ghost town of Willow, in addition to seasonal destinations like the “North Pole.” It’s little things like this that make a new house feel like home.
