Dear Parents.

As you recall. I sent an email to you earlier in the week. SDC is committed to
communicating with our primary constituencies.

Please read 8005 response included in this email. However. to assist in simplifying the
main topics. we list the four primary findings as they relate to the article:

1 There is not $20 million unaccounted for. All money has been properly documented and
reported to necessary federal state and financial authorities

2 SDC has a sound datarinforrned. multiryear budgeting process that has been
commended by SDC's accrediting body

3 All eligible 800 students never stopped receiving and continue to reoelve their
CalGrant award

4 All SDC audits resulted in a unmodified opinion (this is auditing language to say in
positive terms that the auditors found finances are in accordance With applicable financial
reporting framework).
