Shea advised that she parked her 2015 Silver Ford Fusion with FL Tag# in front of her apartment at approximately 1900 hours. On 00:?101?10, Shea was noti?ed by apartment complex management that her purse was found by another tenant. Shea walked out to her vehicle and noticed that her glove compartment was open with Ruger LR 22 full size pistol missing. Shea said that her purse had been located on the ?oorboard of her vehicle. The purse had contained her checkbook from Regions Bank with approximately 15 or more checks in it. I checked the vehicle and found no signs of forced entry. Crime scene processing could not be conducted due to the the rain. Shea was able to provide a serial number for the Ruger LR 22. It should be noted that the pistol is black and has Shea's name engraved on the side of the pistol. Shea advised at the time of this report, it appears that none of her checks had been used. I spoke with Jason Reed, a maintenance worker for Arbor Club apartments. Reed advised that at approximately 0045 hours on 03100100, another tenant found Shea's purse in front of the Building. Reed contacted the office staff to contact Shea about her purse. Shea and Reed swore and af?rmed to their verbal statements. The stolen firearm was entered into by PPD Dispatcher A529. Due to the rain my body camera was not activated but per agency policy my in car camera with audio recorder was active during my investigation. There is no suspect information at this time.
