Dear Mr. Kraft,

In or about November 2015, the Legislative Ethics Commission received a
complaint that you initially lodged with the Illinois Office of Executive Inspector
General concerning Rep. Edward J, Acevedo. The Executive Inspector General
forwarded your complaint to the Oflice of the Legislative Inspector General because
the subject of the complaint was a member of the General Assembly, and therefore
would have been under the Legislative Inspector General's jurisdiction. At the time,
however, there was no Legislative Inspector General in office to review or take action
on your complaint.

I was appointed this month as Special Legislative Inspector General, and I have
now received and reviewed your complaint. Because Rep. Acevedo is no longer a
member of the General Assembly, 1 do not have jurisdiction over the matters you have
raised, meaning that the law does not permit me to investigate further.
