METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT Peter Newsham OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS Dustin Sternbeck Chief of Police Director NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Public Information Office: 202- 727-4383 November 19, 2017 Homicide: 3000 Block of 30th Street, Southeast (Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 3000 block of 30th Street, Southeast, on Saturday, November 18, 2017. At approximately 11:43 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. All life-saving efforts failed and the victim was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old Marcel Harrison of Southeast, DC. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
