Video surveillance footage from an AMPM two blocks from Larrea Street showed the same Toyota Tacoma park at the gas pumps, just prior to the incident. The Tacoma was driven by the White male adult wearing the shirt. A white Ford Crown Victoria with a spotlight, vented hood. and paint peeling from the roof, arrived at the same time and was driven by a White male adult with brown hair, medium-to-heavy build. and 6' tail. The occupants of both vehicles conversed with each other for several minutes and it was ctear they knew each other. The vehicles left AMPIVI in tandem and several minutes later traveled eastbound on Highway 111 after the burglary. A second commercial burglary occurred on August 25, 2017 at 42210 Cook Street, Palm Desert. Suspectts) forced entry into the electrical rooms of several suites and stole five commercial-grade circuit breakers worth a total of 53,500. No video surveillance footage was obtained. On August 27, 2017, a commercial burglary occurred at Sherman?s Deli, located at 73181 Country Club Drive, Palm Desert. The suspect(s) gained access to the locked electrical room by cutting the lock with a grinder. Four circuit breakers, valued between $1,500 and $2,500 each, were stolen. Video surveillance footage from surrounding businesses showed the same Toyota Tacoma and Ford Crown Victoria in the parking lot minutes priorto the burglary. Another commercial burglary occurred on 08127117 at 68805 Perez Road, Cathedral City. Suspect(s) forced entry into the electrical room and an unknown amount of circuit breakers. Video surveillance footage showed the same Crown Victoria driven by the same male as seen on AMPM footage. The male exited the Crown Victoria, used pliers to open the electrical room door, entered the room for a few moments, then exited back to the Crown Victoria. On August 30, 2017, Sgt. Brewster informed me he conducted a vehicle check on a white Ford Crown Victoria (AZ license plate BYM8210) on 08/25/17 between 0200 and 0300 hours. He could not recall if the vehicle had a vented hood or paint peeling from the roof. The vehicle was parked at Homewood Suites, located at 38999 Cook Street Palm Desert. I conducted a computer records check utilizing law enforcement databases and noticed the registered owner of the Crown Victoria was Troy Chris Christiansen, date of 10/18/72. Christiansen had several theft?related convictions and an outstanding felony warrant for assault and violation of probation out of San Bernardino County. I iooked at his California Dl'v'lV photograph and several booking photographs and noticed he was the same male I saw exit the Crown Victoria when it was at the AMPM on 08725717. An inquiry of the automatic license plate reader (ALPR) database revealed the Crown Victoria was parked at Wei-Mart, 5601 Ramon Road, Palm Springs, on 082311? at 1903 hours. On August 31, 2017, I went to Wal?Mart and reviewed video surveillance footage from 08r'23717. I noticed the Crown Victoria, which had paint peeling from the roof, a spotlight, and vented hood, arrived in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 1858 hours. Christiansen and a White female adult with blonde hair entered Wei-Mart, purchased several items, and exited back out to the Crown Victoria. Deputy Villasenor went to Homewood Suites and con?rmed with Assistant General Manager Andy Cabrera that Christiansen had reservations from 08723117 to 08/28i17. The reservation paperwork listed a white Ford Crown Victoria as his vehicle. On osrosrt 7, Christiansen was arrested in his Crown Victoria in Palm Desert for his felony warrants. The Crown Victoria contained several burglary-related tools, including pry bars, bolt cutters, drills. and a grinder. He invoked his right to remain silent prior to any questioning. Based on Christiansen and/or his vehicle being seen on video surveillance minutes before, during, or minutes after seven of the burglaries, I believe probable cause exists he committed and conspired with Sikorski to commit those burglaries. Additionally, the burglary where he and his vehicle were not seen (42210 Cook Street) occurred the same morning as the burglary on Larrea Street, with the same modus operandi; therefore, I believe probable cause exists he committed and conspired with Sikorski to commit that burglary as well. ln total, it is my belief Christiansen violated eight counts of commercial burglary - 459 PC and eight counts of conspiracy - 182(a)(1) PC. 2 2 Adopted for Mandatory Use DECLARATION I 5U PPORT 0F ARREST ARRANT Riverside Superior Court [Rev (Refomrattsd 05714715}
