EPA ls Committed To
Enforcement

WASHINGTON - Rather than report that EPA and
states are working together to find violators of
environmental laws and bring them back into
compliance, The New Vork Times has distorted

 

the facts about enforcement under the current
administration.

 

The reality is that Administrator Scott Pruitt is
committed to enforcement; he has repeatedly
underscored the need to continue to vigorously
enforce against polluters. There is not only no
reduction in commitment to ensure
compliance with our nation?s environmental
laws, but a greater emphasis on compliance in
the first place.

Contrary to the impression that The Times is
seeking to create. Administrator Pruitt has not
directed EPA staff to decrease their enforcement
efforts and no request to gather enforcement
information has been denied.
