Dear Shawn,

It is with great sadness that submit my resignation from my position as Executive
Officer for Organization Development. I was excited when you tapped me to join
your team. i left my job, my home, my friends, and my family to come to Nashville
to help a friend improve the conditions for learning as we had clone in other
places. However, I now find myself facing false allegations against my personal
character and my professionai code of ethics. When I first found out about these
allegations, was shocked and hurt. I thought about resigning before but i was
confident in my innocence based on self?analysis of my professional conduct. 1
now realize that defending myself would require expensive and exhausting legal
patties. That would be painful for all involved and very disruptive for the school
district. At this point, I just want to go home to my family. My last day is Friday,
December 8, 2017.

i wish you the best of luck in raising expectations for the benefit of every child in
Nashville. There are great people in the district. Please continue to create
conditions of empowerment and allow their contributions to help you achieve the
strategic priorities. I know you will focus the district, create clarity in the work,
and provide children with opportunities for success.
