Printed name and title Case 7:17-cr-00187 Document 1 Filed in TXSD on 01/25/17 Page 2 of 2 Attachment A On January 24, 2017, at approximately 09:00 AM, Jorge OLIVARES, the driver of a Chevy Malibu bearing Texas license plates 150), presented himself for inspection at the Pharr, Texas Port of Entry. The primary Customs and Border Protection Of?cer (CBPO) referred OLIVARES for a secondary inspection due to a database alert on OLIVARES. Once in secondary, a CBP Canine Enforcement Of?cer (CEO) conducted an inspection of the vehicle. The CBP CEO received a positive alert to the dash area of the vehicle. An x?ray inspection of the vehicle revealed an anomaly. Inspection of vehicle resulted in the discovery of ?ve (5) bundles of cocaine, weighing approximately 5.86 kilograms, concealed within a non-factory compartment in the dash area of the vehicle. In a post Miranda statement, OLIVARES stated to HSI Special Agent and Task Force Of?cers that he was the owner of the vehicle and has been using the vehicle for approximately three months. OLIVARES further stated that no repairs had been performed on his vehicle in the past three months. OLIVARES was noti?ed that CBPOS had discovered narcotics in his vehicle. OLIVARES stated that the drugs had been placed in the vehicle by an unknown person, and that the vehicle was drapped off in his home 1n Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. OLIVARES stated that shortly- thereafter, he proceeded to cross the vehicle into the United States. OLIVARES was arrested and charged with violations of 21 841, 952, 846.
