Title IX and Title VTprohibit sex and race, color, and national origin discrimination, respectively, in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance from the Department. These laws also prohibit a recipient from intimidating, tlu-eatening, coercing, or discriminating against an individual for the purpose of interfering with any right or privilege seemed under these la\vs, or because a person engaged in a protected activity under these laws.
