Basically, if a background check comes back with anything egregious (serious misdemeanors, felonies, etc), it is taken to the Director of HR to look into for more information. He looks at the date, charge, disposition, position ?hired? for, and other factors and may sometimes Call the applicants to discuss, especially if they didn?t disclose the information on their application. He then determines if the applicants is okay to hire or not. it is hard to say just for the ?arrested" charge because an applicant may be arrested for their first (81: only) OWI 15 years ago or a year ago for domestic first one we would probably hire and second one we would not. Investigation, Agency Case Number: 2016?0896 Dear Sergeant Long: Upon our recent discussions in review of the status of your investigation, I appears that there is insuf?cient evidence presently adduced by your investigation to obtain a criminal conviction. The allegations of criminal conduct with respect to outside contractors appears re?ited by the evidence you have adduced. The allegations of tampering with records appear to sustain that the document changes were actually made by others. Similarly, the allegations of personal use of government property do not appear to be sustained by suf?cient evidence that there was measurable detriment to the public body to obtain a criminal conviction on those issues.
