From: Meltzer, David Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2012 6:44:59 PM To: NHQ - International Services; International Delegates; International Contractors; International Services Finance Subject: Staff Announcements Change is about the only constant in life and ISD has been fortunate not to have had any changes in our senior leadership for several years. However, it is with regret that announce not one, but two, departures. After seven years at the American Red Cross, Nan Buzard has accepted a position in Geneva beginning in early 2013. It is always gratifying to see a colleague take on new opportunities and challenges and also sad to lose experienced leadership. While we will be losing Nan, we will not be losing the excellent programmatic and operational focus she has brought to IRP. The strategy, vision and results-framework to which she contributed will remain. have asked Amy Gaver to assume Nan's responsibilities on an interim basis and she has agreed. Over the next month I will provide more details on transition planning and Nan will soon share with you details of her posting. I also regret to announce that Jerry Anderson has decided to make a change and pursue other opportunities. Jerry will leave HAP in a strong position to move forward with its important work and I am grateful for his decision to put other opportunities on hold to provide leadership to this program over the past 5 months. Jerry will be working with the HAP team on transition issues in the coming weeks and Lesley Schaffer will step in as the interim HAP lead after his departure on November 2nd. I want to thank Jerry f0r his two decades of dedication and hard work in furthering the international mission of ARC and wish him well in his fUture endeavors. I realize that change can lead to questions and concerns and I look forward to talking about this at Friday's All Hands meeting. Of course, feel free to contact me via email or by stopping by my office if you want to talk privately. Sincerely, David
