Pe n d in g fin a l d e s ig n The backside of the tribute mural is a lenticular design that must be experienced from two different optical points. The west facing view can be easily experienced from the Hollywood bus stop a n d then a ga in further west down the Max line. The south facing view is meant to be experienced by riders waiting to board the Max at the Hollywood station. Movement a n d transit are elements of this mural which invite the viewer to participate by moving around a n d throughout the mural in order to comprehend the messages conveyed. Ha v ing different viewpoints a n d making images that make up part of a larger experience is a theme we have revisited throughout the concept. A message of peace is conveyed in short phrases. "Please tell everyone on this train I love them," were Taliesin Myrddin Namkai Meche's final words as he passed a w a y on the train. A s we poured through the quotes a n d phrases that were originally written in chalk, this stood out as one of the most powerful statements. We want our artwork to carry a positive message but also to confront the tragic event head on. Ou r version calls out to not just those on the train that d a y, but everyone in our city.
