According to news reports, the FBI is investigating whether Alexander Torshin, a Russian of?cial with close ties tO President Vladimir Putin?who has reported links to money laundering?inappropriately and illegally in?uenced our election.i The national security as well as legal implications of these reports make it imperative that Congress conduct a thorough investigation. I therefore request that you provide the Senate Finance Committee any documents relevant to ?nancial links between the NRA and its associated entities and Mr. Torshin or other Russian of?cials, and that you include any documents related to shell companies or other illicit funding mechanisms suspected Of being connected to these reported links. I am particularly interested in documents from the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and other elements Of the Of?ce Of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
