lm?u .1.7A.l.?li Ens .H. E. LOMMI 1? Attorneys General: Republicans will pick up 5 seats. Electing Republicans in once-held Democrat seats in Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma and Georgia. Republicans will not lose any incumbent-held seats. Lieutenant Governors: Republicans will continue gains in the previous election cycle by winning the Oklahoma Lieutenant Governors of?ce. Republicans will then hold the of?ce in 24 states of the 45 elected Lieutenant Governors. Secretaries of State: Republicans will pick up 3 seats, all in the important states of Ohio, Colorado and New Mexico. Legislative Chambers: Because of redistricting, the 2010 state legislative races matter more than ever. Therefore, the RSLC in February announced the creation of the REDistricting MAjority Project (REDMAP). This program is dedicated to winning state legislative seats that will have a critical impact on redistricting in 2011. It is only July and it is clear the GOP will hold every state legislative chamber that was thought to be in danger just 12 months ago (Texas House, Michigan Senate, and Tennessee House). It is also clear that we can pick up the Indiana, Ohio and Houses with some legislative chambers in ?blue/purple? states like Michigan, Colorado, Iowa, Nevada, Oregon and New York legitimately in play. We conservatively see a net pick up of 10 legislative chambers for the GOP in 2010 if we have the funding. To put that in perspective, the Democrats picked up a net of 8 in 2006 (a record at the time) and the GOP picked up a net 7 in 2002. If REDMAP accomplishes its goals (107 key races in 16 states) we can gain control of up to 25 congressional seats in redistricting a key advantage going into 2012 congressional elections. In Great Lake states like Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and we could see Republican? controlled legislatures working with newly elected Republican Governors just in time for redistricting. Included with this memorandum are the REDMAP PowerPoint presentation and the latest REDMAP Political Report, which is styled along the lines of the Cook Report. In the upcoming days, I will contact your of?ce to set up a call to discuss the enclosed information and answer any questions you may have. If you would like to contact me prior to scheduling a call, I can be reached at (571) 243-6530 or (402) 502?2921. As always Dr. Templeton, your generosity and support of our efforts at the RSLC are greatly appreciated.
