Date: February 18, 2011 To: Alt Pope From: Tim Barnes, President?Finance Division, RSLC Re: REDMAP Appreciation Luncheon .?uugnuwguan, ?mum-4? wen?. .. a: 2010 proved to be a bigger ?wave? election year than anticipated, both nationally and in REDMAP targeted states. Since Election Day, at least 20 Democrats have changed parties; in the Louisiana House, these defections have resulted in a Republican majority. There are now 25 states where Republicans hold majorities in both legislative chambers, up from 14. Thanks to the Election Day victories, Republicans hold majorities in 9 of the 15 states that will gain or lose U.S. House seats and where the legislature plays a role in redrawing the map. In the 70 congressional districts that were labeled by National Public Radio as ?competitive? in 2010, Republicans now control the redrawing of at least 47 of those districts. By comparison, Democrats are responsible for 15 districts and a non-partisan process determines the additional eight. We could not have achieved these overwhelming successes without your support. As a special thank you, RSLC Chairman, Ed Gillespie, will be hosting a luncheon on Monday, March 7th.
