Community posts sent to NBC 7 Investigates Cloverdale/Mountain View· Thank you for the work involved with this situation. I have been annoyed for months with the noise. I walk down into the canyon, but fear to do so on the weekends. If indeed they are a legal gun range, then they should have no problem showing the paperwork for regulations and safety for usage. The Escondido gun range in Valley Center is one of the best and safest in the County. I believe in gun ownership, I’ve gone through the Fish & Game gun safety course. This range does not look legal nor sound like an authorized gun range course. Please continue to look into this. Mary Ln-Summit· Looks like a good time to me. People always are trying to stir things up. It is out in the hills all by itself. If only they set it up so it was open to the public. Rancho San Pasqual· In my opinion, this is a political viewpoint dispute. If laws are broken, they'll be confronted by authorities, who (thanks to a chosen few) are alerted to their existence. Rancho San Pasqual· The two complaints I heard during the piece were noise and fire danger. I am interested to see if those violate any laws and how the range will address them. Rancho San Pasqual The news video didn't mention any violation of gun laws. Apparently they made some improvements without a permit. Given the location of the property I don't think the lack of permits is a big deal. Rancho San Pasqual· Wrong xxx!! I am a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms! Let's not try to create a divide where one is not necessary or needed! What we have here is a non-permitted range that appears to have little regard for citizen concerns of fire danger. For most California homeowners the Santa Ana winds bring mental anguish. For our little corner of rural San Diego, we have the added mental anguish of "there they go again" with their auto or semi-automatic gunfire when our palms are bending in the wind. A less abusive intrusion is the "rat-tat-tat" of gunfire every Sunday morning - do birds sing on Sunday mornings in this area? I wouldn't know cause you can't hear them over the gunfire! Les get to the bottom of this without the corrosive conversations Community posts sent to NBC 7 Investigates Rancho San Pasqual·There are only two issues at play here about the 'range'. 1) Are people using the range during a red flag day? And 2) Is the owner present during that time, and / or has given permission? It's private property and it doesn't need a permit. Which is why I keep question people calling it illegal. Rancho San Pasqual·3h ago Sorry I could not contribute what I know. I was out on a walk during the last high fire warning when the winds were extreme and they were shooting their guns. I could hear it all up and down Holly Oak and Wild Oak and I would be glad to testify that in court, if need be. They lied.
