Re. SSA 73 and Chinatown Square 
Dear Alderman Solis, 

 

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
We would like to verify a statement you made at the conclusion of the Finance Committee
hearing on November 16​th​.
You stated to Ms. Pat Jan, a speaker in opposition to the SSA, Chinatown Square will not be
included in SSA 73. Ms. Jan referenced your communication of November 6​th​, where you stated
the contrary,
“It is my hope that this matter (tax delinquency) be expeditiously resolved, so that the
Chinatown Square is eventually folded into the SSA. Chinatown's vibrancy and prosperity should
be shared by all of the community and not just one section of it” In the follow up “​you said no, it
(Chinatown Square) will not be included.”
Please clarify and reconfirm, so Chinatown Square can plan their future budget accordingly,
which includes paying for many thousands of dollars in legal fees expended to resolve the tax
sale situation.
