Subject:  Chinatown SSA - revised program boundaries

You may already be aware that the proposed Chinatown SSA will now exclude the Chinatown
Square. There will be a revised {and lowered) budget to reflect this change. Therefore, the
remaining PIN holders within the SSA boundaries will NOT see an increase in their contribution. it will
remain the same.

The Chinatown Chamber are the proposed stewards of the SSA program. with oversight from the
City and my office. The boundary and budget change was prompted by the recent discovery of
unpaid property taxes for the Chinatown Square. I understand that the Square Association has
engaged legal counsel to identify and correct the error they believe that has been made by Cook
County.

It is my hope that this matter be expeditiously resolved, so that the Chinatown Square

is eventually folded into the SSA. Chinatown's vibrancy and prosperity should be shared by all
of the community and not just one section of it.
