Millwood Hospital is a valued healthcare provider in the greater Dallas area, serving patients with a wide variety of psychiatric needs and conditions. Notwithstanding Millwood’s reputation and overall quality care record, we are mindful that over the course of treating more than 29,000 patients since 2011, isolated and regrettable incidents invariably occur. In these circumstances, we diligently and swiftly investigate, identify any opportunities for improvement, and where appropriate, implement changes to our procedures to diminish the possibility of similar future incidents. Where indicated, we also pursue appropriate personnel and procedural actions, up to and including termination. While these cases represent unacceptable deviations from our high standards, they are not reflective of the overall quality of care and positive outcomes provided at Millwood to tens of thousands of patients over many years. Millwood also prides itself on being an employer of choice and we apply appropriate standards to ensure that qualified candidates are hired. This includes requiring successful completion of comprehensive criminal background and employment reference checks, and education and licensure verification (where applicable). New clinical employees must also complete 80 hours of combined training and shadowing and pass multiple competency tests. As to the lawsuit, while we dispute the allegations and deny wrongdoing, we are unable to comment further as this is pending litigation. The entire leadership and staff at Millwood Hospital is and remains committed to providing the highest level of compassionate care to the patients we are privileged to serve. Sincerely, Dwight Lacy CEO
