Homicide: 4200 Block of 7th Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch
are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, February 16, 2018, in the 4200 block
of 7th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 1:02 am, officers responded to the listed location for the report of a
shooting. Once on the scene, they discovered an adult male, inside of a residence, suffering from
apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and
transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. A short time
later, a second victim, a juvenile male, sought treatment at a local hospital for non-life
threatening gunshot wounds.
On Sunday, February 18, 2018, the adult male victim succumbed to his injuries and was
pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Chicano Phillips, of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that
provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons
responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information
about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information
