These issues all reflect that Dry quick Restoration is not performing satisfactorily [or the work they have been awarded, The 8 homes below all are appravedfor Dry Quick Restoration but are not completed. The other 4 homes were assigned to other contractors, three of which are completed and the other is scheduled to go back to council on August 24, 1015 for a change in contractor. ISSUE In a conversation with- today, August a, 2016, she stated that she has attempted to contact bath the Contractor and Inspection Division. she has been out of her house since september 2015. she is living in temporary lodging that is seriously unbearable. There are many issues with the house that she is earrently living in with the is refusing to repair the issues with her temporary lodging. She wants to know when can she get hack into her house? She has observed that there has not been any noticeable change or progress toward completion on her house in the lost two to three months. You stated in the email below that and theft was one a] the reasons the has been delayed. All contractors are required to have insurance to protect the property against theft and vandalism. She needs help! What is the projected date that she can move hack into her house which is now 5 months past the original completion date? ISSUE in a conversation with_ August 5, 1016, she stated that she has attempted to contact both the Contractor and Inspection Diwsion. She has been out alher house since September 2015. She says that she is living in Temporary lodging that cost her $800.00 per month. she cannot afford to continue to pay that cost. While the Inspection may have been responding to her calls, we have not [allowed our on program timeline by completing the Reconstruction project on time. ThiS causes undue stress, discomfort and inconvenience on the citizens. ihe city pays the draws when they come In but, the contractors are not completing the citizens home Reconstruction as planned. what is the projected date that she can move back into her house which is now 5 months past the date? 155 The citizens listed above are just two of the deiayed Reconstructions? When will these homes be completed? 4505 Bonnie View Closing date-August 31, 2015 Proceed Completion Date- February 2016 8 draws but not compieted 2936 E. It appears that draws are beina authorized for work that has not been done on the properties. Some contractors are submitting draws to get paid in advance of the work. The program implies that draws reflect a percentage of work completed to date. If we continue to pay contractors in advance for work to be done, rather than work completed, they do not have an incentive to finish work scheduled for the project on time. They will forever be behind on the projects that they have bid to participate and have been awarded in the program. ISSUE As you already know, the Inspection Division should monitor the projects to ensure that they are on track and on time! It is great that we are giving the citizens a listening ear, but, how are we following up on the projects to make sure that the work being done is of good quaiity and done they are on time? The original purpose for the Reconstruction Program of the home, is to get the citizens back in to good living conditions and COMPLETED WITHIN BUDGET AND IN A TIMELY If there is anything thati can do to assist in improving our on time compietion of projects, please let me know?
