I agree and I've shared this perspective with the Mayor and CPS executives. Stability in CPS and a safer Chicago is necessary to keep good families. The possibility of another teacher strike doesn't help. The train has left the station as it relates to the elementary school and I agree that the proposed new developments will fill the new spots so planning for the a new SLES proceeds. SLES is still with the drop in attendance. I believe that the planning for the new school is forcing movement on a high school. Ald. Dowell From: John P. Jacoby$ Sent: Tuesday, Septem er 7, . That is not a good sign for neighborhood trust in CPS. These are the type of students that CPS doesn't want to lose and families going to the suburbs really hurt the city as well i doubt it makes a good argument against the school expansion - seems like the development in the area will fill the new spots, but my argument would still be the HS was a greater area of need for the community JOHN P. Loop Budget We have 3 full kindergarten classes (same numbers as last yearl believe) so the drop off seems to be people leaving the school. Many are moving to 'burbs or in Henry's class going to academic centers or private schools where they have a high school option Sent from my iPhone On Sep 27, 2016, at 2:36 PM, John P.
