In July 2016, the State Board of Education approved the Restart Refonn Model application for 14 of our schools. After careful review of the projected cost associated with class size reduction and its ?nancial impact on the district?s budget, I am requesting the State Board of Education to rescind the approved Restart Reform Model applications in the following schools: Bethesda Elementary Brogden Middle Eno Valley Elementary Shepard Middle Fayetteville Street Elementary Lowe?s Grove Middle Lucas Middle E. K. Powe Elementary Githens Middle Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Sandy Ridge Elementary Y. E. Smith Elementary In addition, I am requesting the Restart Reform Model applications remain active in Glenn and Lakewood Elementary Schools. The continuation of the Restart Reform model in these schools will allow the district to implement comprehensive transformation strategies for systemic change as well as explore the feasibility of the Restart Reform Model in other schools. Thank you in advance for your consideration and approval. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Vomit Pascal Mubenga 511 Cleveland Street .
