How many cases of alleged sexual harassment by NHS staff have been recorded in the past year. 2. If possible. could you indicate how many. if any. of the alleged victims were minors (under 18). 3. Please also indicate if the complaint was referred to the police. 4. How was the matter was resolved (ie complaint not upheld. verbal/written warning. suspension or dismissal of staff member). We are treating your request under our procedures for responding to requests for information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. The information we have to respond to your request is as follows: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest NHS Board in Scotland and provides services to a core population of 1.2 and provides specialist regional services to more than half the country's population. It also employs approximately 38 000 staff which represents a Quarter of the workforce in Harassment is defined in Section 5 of the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Dignity at Work policy and this covers sexual harassment. Where an allegation of harassment is received. the manager Will apply the appropriate policy and procedure. Where there is clear evidence of this type of misconduct then an investigation proceeds directly under the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Disciplinary Policy and Procedure. If necessary there can be an independent review of the evidence by a Joint Investigatory Panel (ie. as per the process for outlined in the Dignity at Work Policy). All staff are made aware of the Human Resources policies which exist on their appointment to the organisation and advice and support is available to our staff in ralsing concerns.
